Description
Peacock Creek Camping Area is situated within the northern section of Richmond Range National Park on the banks of Peacock Creek. The park itself features extensive old-growth forest and rainforests of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia's World Heritage Area providing habitat for a huge range of native fauna. The campgrounds include open grassed campsite areas suitable for tent and camper trailer access. Access is via 2WD vehicle along Peacock Creek Road, 2.5km west of the intersection of Peacock Creek Road and Cambridge Plateau Scenic Drive. Facilities include picnic tables, wood barbecues and non-flush toilets. Bring your own drinking water and firewood. Water is unsuitable for drinking. Bring your own firewood. Bookings are not essential. Camping fees are payable at the self-registration station.
