Description
Montagu Recreation Reserve is located about 20km from Smithton on the tip of North-Western Tasmania. The campground features shaded oceanfront camping on level, well grassed areas with views across Robbins Passage to Robbins Island. Fishing is very popular at Montagu with good access to the boat ramp as well as opportunities for shore fishing at the jetty, off rocks and beach locations along the foreshore. Vehicular access to the site is via C215 and Old Port Road. There are no shopping facilities in the area so stock up well at Smithtown prior to arriving. Site reservations are to be made with the On-Site Caretaker prior to occupying a site and paying fees. The camping area is open from 1 November to 30 April.
