Description
Billy Goat Bend Campground offers basic bush camping facilities within the unspoilt natural beauty and remoteness of the Mitchell River National Park. The natural Ampitheatre Lookout is located nearby with excellent views of the Mitchell River Gorge. This free campsite can be reached via Dargo Park Road, Waller Road and Billy Goat Bend Road. Most roads through the park are unsealed and are navigated most safely in a 4WD, although Billy Goat Bend is accessible via extremely narrow 2WD unsealed roads. Drive slowly and look out for debris. The park is home to many bird species including the Peregrine Falcon. Walking Trails include features such as the ominously-named Den of Nargun, Glenaladale Weir and the Mitchell River Gorge.
